Happy Mother’s Day!

This post is sponsored by Storyworth.

This year one of our favorite highlights was going on a family vacation with my mom. It’s been 7 years since my dad has passed away. Since then I have come to appreciate even more every minute that I get to spend with my mom. It was really special on this family trip getting to hear more of her old stories and memories about her childhood and about my dad.

It is so cool hearing her thoughts and wisdom from her life experiences. Learning more of who she was at my age. The lessons and wisdom that she learned through life and her secret to having such amazing joy despite her circumstances. I wish that I had that same opportunity with my dad. To be able to sit down with him and hear what he felt and thought when he was 31 years old.

That’s one of the main reasons why I love partnering with Storyworth. We’ve shared about them many times and they’re one of the best gifts for Mother’s Day (both for my mom and for me)! Storyworth is a way to preserve a lifetime of memories that can be passed down from each generation.

Here’s how it works:

  1. Each week, your mom receives an email with meaningful questions about her life. (You can choose from a list of Storyworth’s recommended questions, or write your own.)
  2. Storyworth emails her reply to the custom list of family/friends you’ve chosen.
  3. At the end of the year, Storyworth combines all the answers into a custom book.

For us, the weekly Storyworth replies became a highlight of our week that we looked forward to reading and talking about together! It was amazing how short questions and answers unlocked so many memories and stories that we never knew about our family! It was a great way to stay connected throughout the year as we always had something new to talk about.

Receiving that custom book at the end of the year was a highlight! It was like reading a professionally published family biography. Learning more about my mom and her life story has made me appreciate her so much more. The sacrifices that she made raising 3 boys (like cheering us on while standing in the pouring rain at our sporting events). I am still learning so much about how amazing my mom is and her life story. She is truly my hero.

So if you are wondering what to get last minute for Mother’s Day, we highly recommend checking out Storyworth!
