As soon as May hits every year, it feels like Hudson and I are always going, going, going from one thing to the next. I love it – I really, really do – but there can certainly be a tendency for things to get a little overwhelming amidst the craziness of the spring/summer season!
Last Sunday, we actually had a free evening together, so we decided it was time for a date night in!
Conveniently, it was also the night of the Billboard Music Awards (wait, you mean I’m the only person that puts award shows in my calendar?)! So, we decided to spend the evening debating over who was going to win each category and who was best dressed :
Side note: I was telling my sister how thankful I am for a husband who likes to watch chick flicks, The Bachelor/Bachelorette, and award shows…and then it hit me. He doesn’t like them. He just loves me, and is amazing about participating in the things he knows I enjoy. Incredibly thankful for that!
Anyway, as usual, I wasn’t really in the mood for cooking. But we both were hungry, so we decided it was a great night for pizza and cookies! (Okay, let’s be honest, when is it not a great night for pizza and cookies?)
So we took some selfies in the kitchen (haha!), whipped up some peanut butter cookies, and also put in the oven TONY’S® Pizzas we had just picked up at Walmart.
Since Tony’s 30% larger Pizzeria Pizza was new at Walmart, Hudson and I wanted to taste test which flavor we liked best: cheese, pepperoni, or three meat. I ended up liking pepperoni best, and Hudson liked the three meat, but each of the flavors was delicious with authentic pizzeria taste! I especially appreciated that the pizzas were made from real ingredients.
Side note again: I am OBSESSED with our new handmade wood sign from Salt And Light Designs! “Home is wherever I’m with you” is so true for me and Hudson because we are originally from Pennsylvania, now live in Maryland, and really enjoy traveling. I just feel so at “home” when I’m together with him regardless of where we are, so I love the sign – plus the owners, Kait and Chris, are the sweetest!
Anyway, we didn’t eat all three whole pizzas in one night, I promise! They were huge, so it was great to have leftovers and not have to cook for another couple nights :) I can’t tell you how nice it was to truly enjoy date night in without having to worry about what to eat for dinner. It made for such a great date night in that I think this is going to become a regular for us!
