Our Anniversary

anniversaryHudson and I had the BEST time celebrating our anniversary! Instead of just having an anniversary day, we made it an anniversary week. Here’s a recap…

Monday was our actual anniversary and I actually feel like we did the least that day. I picked up ice cream, oreos, Magic Shell, and waffle cones from the grocery store and we made our own “Coldstone” style ice cream cones! It was delicioussss :)

Tuesday I literally forget what we did. I’m sure it was something good :)

Wednesday, I won tickets to a Ray LaMontagne concert so we went there. We rode our bikes to the concert venue, which is just a little over a mile from our house, BUT it started pouringggg rain on the way back so we got drenched. It was an adventure, that’s for sure! Overall though, it was a really fun night because on the way there we stopped at the mall for dinner and randomly bumped into our friends who were also going to the concert!!

Thursday, if you follow us on Instagram, you probably saw that I also won tickets to a Jack Johnson concert that night! Seriously, so crazy. I didn’t realize how many of Jack Johnson’s songs I know (like, ALL of them) but I think he was an even better singer in person.

Friday, we stayed in and did our little gift exchange. We’re not big into spending money on gifts (would rather spend it making memories together) but I got Hud this super cute framed print of a map from Minted. We LOVE to travel so he was absolutely thrilled. One thing we always say is that, no matter where we live, we want to remember our good old hometown of Lancaster, PA…so what I love the most about this print is that it has the word “HOME” in the state of Pennsylvania. So cute that Minted does that! (FYI, they offer all kinds of limited edition and custom art prints, so check them out if you need a gift for your spouse, friend, or even yourself!)

Saturday, we went to this fresh food market in Baltimore and ordered crab cakes, steamed shrimp, strawberry smoothies, and cinnamon pretzels! Talk about good food…and it was SO cheap. We had a picnic by the harbor and then biked around the town a bit!

And Sunday, Hudson surprised me with a date in DC…complete with Georgetown cupcakes and a trip to the National Harbor! At each stop, he made a cute little video message of him talking about how it reminded him of our relationship.

And now…we’re back to work…and I’m prepping for something really exciting for next week (will share more tomorrow)! But nothing can beat last week. I loved celebrating our anniversary for a whole week instead of just one day!

How do you plan to celebrate your anniversary this year?
