Today is our two year anniversary! If you know our love story you’re probably thinking, “wait, I thought you just got married”…and I’m thinking the same thing. I feel like we just shared our wedding vows!
Here’s the thing. I love being married to my best friend, and these past two years have been the best of my life. But I’ve also repeatedly learned that a good marriage takes hard work. We’ve written a lot about marriage — everything from 7 things marriage teaches you to our advice for a happy marriage — but sometimes I think it’s easy to forget that we’re living a love story, not running a small business together. We get so caught up in our individual daily routines and/or discussing finances, grocery lists, etc — that it can be easy to live shoulder to shoulder rather than face to face.
So today, Hud, I’d like to make an addition to my wedding vows (is that allowed?). So addition to what I committed to you on June 2nd, 2012 in these wedding vows…
