So we’re 6 months into 2015…how has it gone so quickly?!

I don’t know about you, but I definitely fell off track of our New Year’s Resolutions there for a little. Thankfully, lately we have been getting back into the swing of things, especially in terms of working out.

One of many things I’ve realized about being consistent with working out is that I have a lot more energy throughout my day. For some reason, even though I wake up earlier to work out, I feel a lot more refreshed and more “with it” overall. Do you feel the same way when you work out?

Although I don’t claim to be the next Olympic athlete anytime soon (or ever, for that matter), I’ve realized that what matters is that I am taking one step at a time (love that blog post by Emily – and the photo of her below, ow ow!). And as long as I am giving my best, that’s really all I can ask of myself!

Something that has been integral to Em and I getting back on track is the Jawbone UP MOVE, especially its exercise log. This handy dandy wristband tracks all of our activity throughout the day and gives us reports of how many calories we’ve burned! It automatically counts my steps and will even track exercise such as biking and swimming – two of our favorite past times! Because of that, it has motivated us to take exercise beyond the gym, and into everyday life.

It’s so nice because I can log different types of workouts and then see my progress over time to get a better understanding of not only what I am doing, but also what I need to be doing! When you press the UP MOVE, a white light will blink twice at a certain spot on the circle to indicate how far I am into reaching my daily exercise log goal (so for example, if I’ve reached 50 percent of my daily step goal, the light will travel halfway across the circle). I’ve found that to be incredibly motivating!

Another motivating feature is that you can connect your UP MOVE exercise log with your friends and family – so Em and I have ours connected so that we can reach goals together! It also allows you to challenge each other to a step battle duel (lasting 24 hours, 3 days, or 1 week) which has been super fun for us! I won’t mention which of us has won every single time…let’s just say the name doesn’t start with H ;)

The UP MOVE syncs wirelessly to our phones, so it makes everything easy to track. And because it’s so light, I often forget I’m wearing it! I love Jawbone’s message that it “guides you to get fit, lose weight and have fun doing it.” We’ve found that to be very true.
