Chase Bryant Interview: Favorite Date Idea, Song Inspiration, & More

Chase Bryant interviewWe recently had the exciting opportunity of interviewing Chase Bryant, who Rolling Stone called one of the “10 New Country Artists You Need To Know Now.”

Chase Bryant is one of our favorites – his music is so authentic, especially because he co-produces and co-writes all of his songs. Chase is currently on tour with Billy Currington and Tim McGraw for the Shotgun Rider Tour 2015, so we were thankful for the chance to interview Chase before he took the stage that evening.

Chase said he’s really enjoying touring with Billy Currington and Tim McGraw, and that they’ve taught him how to put on a good show. “I go out with the intention of giving people the best time of their lives.”

But Chase isn’t the only one who is enjoying the tour – so is his English Bulldog, Harley! Yes, Chase brings him on the bus – and he apparently is pretty clean, because Chase confessed “I’m a neat freak. Everything has to be clean.”

Besides taking Harley for walks, Chase said a day in the life on tour consists of anything from doing Crossfit (Tim McGraw teaches classes!) to reading a book to shopping for guitars before getting ready for the show.

And in addition to the tour, Chase has also been finishing up his debut full-length album. “It’s kind of like a storybook for me…a record full of different emotions. There’s a lot of different songs in there that explain a lot of who I am.”

His debut EP singles “Take It On Back” and “Little Bit of You” have been climbing the country charts. Our favorite song of his is “Change Your Name,” which Chase said is his favorite too and that he’s hoping it will be his next single. You can listen to it here:

So what’s the inspiration behind the song? “It was that young feeling of being in love.” He wrote it when he was dating a girl during the time his brother was getting married. “It’s that feeling of, you know, wanting to spend a lifetime with someone and give them your name.” So sweet!!

We really love how, even though Chase is so successful at a young age, he is also super humble and down to earth. Chase said that something most people don’t know about him is that he’s a big outdoorsman – he loves to hunt and fish – and that he also loves old cars and motorcycles. We asked him some quick favorites questions – his favorite food is steak, favorite movie is Forest Gump, favorite ice cream is vanilla, favorite sport is baseball, and favorite date idea is “a good dinner and good movie…nothing too crazy.”

Being a country boy from small town Orange Grove, Texas may be part of what’s made him such a hard worker. Chase said his favorite quote is one by Tim McGraw: “It’s not who is the most talented; it’s who works the hardest that gets the job.”

It’s clear that Chase is already – and going to continue to be – incredibly successful because of both his talent AND hard work. We look forward to continuing to follow his music!
