Mmmm let me tell ya…if you are looking for a delicious meal that is still somewhat healthy, this is for you. Better yet, it takes less than 30 minutes to make!
Apple Pork Chops
4 thick pork chops
1 teaspoon vegetable oil
2 tablespoons brown sugar
1/8 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/8 teaspoon ground nutmeg
2 tablespoons unsalted butter
2 tart apples
1. Preheat oven to 175 degrees and place a medium pan in the oven to warm.
2. Heat a large skillet on the stove. Lightly brush pork chops with oil and place in pan to cook. Cook about 10 minutes or until done, turning occasionally. Then transfer pork chops to the warm dish in the preheated oven.
3. While cooking pork chops, take the apples and peel, core, and slice them.
4. In a small bowl, mix brown sugar, salt and pepper, cinnamon and nutmeg.
5. Add butter to skillet, and stir in sliced apples and brown sugar mixture. Cover and cook until apples are just tender.
6. Remove apples with a slotted spoon and arrange on top of the pork chops. Keep warm in the preheated oven.
7. Continue cooking sauce uncovered in the skillet, until thickened slightly. Then, spoon sauce over apples and pork chops.
Enjoy!
