Em and I like to compete. Whether we’re playing sports, games on our phone, or just timing each other to see who can empty the dishwasher the fastest, it seems that almost anything we do turns into some sort of competition. So when we were thinking of what date idea to do for the letter “D,” it seemed like an obvious choice to go to Dave & Buster’s.
It wasn’t long before we turned the games into a competition. Em and I picked 5 games that we agreed would be a fair challenge for each of us. (The five games that we chose were Skee-ball, Spin-to-Win, Basketball, Hit the Light, and Milk Jug Toss.) We decided that to make it a little more interesting, whoever lost the most games would have to put on a Batman onesie, walk into a fast food restaurant, and order something. So not only were bragging rights on the line, but also a little bit of dignity ;)
We did our Dave & Buster’s date on Wednesday because all the games are ½ price on Wednesdays (so twice the fun!) Any time that I get to eat good food, watch sports on a big screen, and play hours of arcade games is a good date for me!
We even ate fondue while bowling…never knew our local Dave & Buster’s had a whole bowling alley in it!
Em won the games that took skill and I somehow won all the chance games. :) We were tied at 2-2, so our little competition came down to the final game. We agreed on the Milk Jug Toss because it was a game that we had never played before. I got very lucky with some of my tosses and ended up beating Em, making me the winner for the night and Em the one who had to dress up in the Batman onesie.
Something that not a lot of people know about Em is that she doesn’t back down from a challenge. When she agrees to do something, she goes all out. So when she put on the Batman costume, she owned it and ordered from McDonald’s like a champ. Haha I felt a little bad for making her follow through with it, but I was laughing too hard to tell her that she didn’t have to do it!
Here’s a video we made of our Dave & Buster’s date night:
So after Em’s Batman performance our “D” date came to an end. I can’t wait to see what Em has planned next week for “E!”
